Reliance Power may join hands with US-based co. for coal mining

Reliance Power (RPO) may enter into a strategic partnership with an US-based company for coal mining, reports DNA. The partnership would be for three mines that Reliance Power will be developing for the Sasan ultra mega power project (UMPP) in Madhya Pradesh. The three mines together are estimated to hold reserves of about 700-800 million tons. The name of the US company is unknown. A formal agreement is likely to be signed after the first week of January.
